HostGator - Best Web Hosting In My Life !

Looking for Web Hosting With Quality Support? 24/7 Support Via Phone, Live Chat, and Email!

When you go searching for web hosting you want something specific right? You want quality customer care, great up time, tons of storage, and ultimate bandwidth! Finding a place like this could be hard. But not impossible. I've done tons of research and will tell you the best web hosting that is available.

HostGator is one of the best web host I have experienced with. With bandwidth, and storage that is nearly impossible to run out of, it allows you to do so much, at such a cheap price. HostGator customer service is rated #1 for web hosting. Another great feature of HostGator is all of their coupons. For example the coupon "BEACH" will allow you to get 20% off their all hosting plans, making it much cheaper at HostGator in this Spring Seasons!

What really separates HostGator from their competitors is their ultra fast customer support. They have live chat, e-mail support, telephone support etc and they always answer within 30 seconds, literally. I once had to wait for 43 seconds for a support assistant to answer me on the live chat but except for that, they have answered all our other live chat support requests, 7 in total, in 30 seconds or less.

The company takes its web hosting business seriously and looks at all aspects from the customer’s point of view. For those who are not in the know the founder of Hostgator started the firm when other web hosts were not able to provide the service he needed to run high traffic sites. Hostgator is committed to providing reliable service, great support, technical know how, and affordable pricing. They aim to be the ultimate in shared, reseller, and dedicated web hosting solutions.

HostGator is one of the most trusted web hosting companies out there, and that is not without a reason. I am not going to go through the in-depth "tech nerd" stuff here but they do of course offer Cpanel as the standard interface for their clients. They run on top-of-the-line Dual Xeon servers that can provide instant backups of your site and they have almost no downtime ever. Many companies claim to have 99,99% up-time guarantee etc but very few companies actually lives up to this promise. HostGator does!! They promise 99,9% up-time and while such claims are usually pointless as it is hard for a client to verify anyways, HostGator seem to actually live up to their promises. I’ve hosted a couple of rather heavy test sites with HostGator the last 6 months or so and according to my site patrol software they had only a downtime of 10 minutes total for the last 6 months!! Beat that!!

It doesn't matter if you are developing a project in PHP, Python, or ASP.net, you can find the right hosting solution at HostGator. Many other shared web hosting companies will offer one or the other. This is really important for people new to website development, who may purchase hosting only to realize the operating system they have chosen doesn't support the technology their website requires. When your hosting company has both platforms, it's easy to switch over. The reason for this massive success for Hostgator comes from their constant improvement to give a better service to their clients.

HostGator, I've been involved with, for a few months now. I know there are many different services offering to host your web site, but I have found HostGator to be especially responsive to questions and concerns. This is kind of interesting, when I signed up I noticed that there was a box where I could enter a promotional code. I searched the internet and found a Discount Coupon and entered one of the codes. Guess what, I immediately received a discount for my first months hosting fees. HostGator regularly supplies coupon codes, which discount the purchase cost of their services.

As I was setting up my account I had some questions and so I logged onto their "Chat Line" service and very quickly I was chatting live with a service representative who answered all of my questions. Chat line representatives are trained to discuss Support, Sales etc.

At the time of this writing hosting is as low as $7.95 a month and, here's the part that I really like, that includes an unlimited number of domain names. To me that was something I was looking for. I didn't want to have to pay more money each month just because I wanted to have more than one web site up and running.

As far as their keeping up with the cutting edge technology, well I was a little concerned. They don't offer a lot of bells and whistles so I wanted to make sure that they do continually upgrade. In talking with them about my concerns I received an email stating that they will be making PHP5 part of their standard working environment in addition to upgrading MySQL from version 4.1 to 5.0. Sometimes it seems to take a little longer than I would like to actually connect with a "Live Chat" representative, but maybe I'm just impatient.

HostGator, when you do a research on, you will come to realize that they have excellent reviews that comments on the value for money, efficient data transfer and huge space offered in their packages. While all the god reviews flow in the internet, the only negative comment about Hostgator is their 1st level service with just a few user facing problems with the emails going to the wrong place. Nevertheless, users were able to solve ther problem at no time at all when the technical staff comes into the aid of the customer.

I've not heard much bad mouthing about hostgator from others either, which is good. You always here the bad stuff first, right, so if no-one are talking shit about them or complaining it has to be a pretty good hosting provider.

Choosing A Web Host - Avoiding The Pitfalls

If you're in the market for web hosting, there's some things you should be aware of before parting with your money. Entrusting your site to a hosting service is a big step, especially if you are involved in e-commerce or disseminating important information to the community.

ThinkHost has been providing quality web hosting services to the world since 1999! Generous bandwidth and disk space allowances, unlimited domains, databases and mailboxes, plus a money back guarantee, 100% uptime guarantee and a bonus pack valued at over $400! ThinkHost is also powered by 100% renewable energy - earth friendly hosting from just $7.50 a month!

"Unlimited" bandwidth offers:

This is probably one of the more popular strategies that some companies use in order to attract your business. It's worked on this principle - the vast majority of web site hosting clients will not be big bandwidth users, therefore lowering the average bandwidth usage across the entire client base.

This situation allows hosting companies some room to move and if a few clients use well above the average, it's no real problem - unless your site is using as much as hundreds, or perhaps even just dozens of the host's other clients.

Something else to bear in mind is that if you are using a ton of bandwidth, that usually means your site will be creating a fairly hefty load on the server as well which may breach the host's terms of service. The bottom line is, if you have a big bandwidth site, you're better off looking for a dedicated server - after all, why risk such a golden goose for the sake of what is really just a few extra dollars a day to have your own managed dedicated server?

So, what would qualify as being a big bandwidth site? It greatly depends on how your site is structured, but anything over 10,000 unique visitors a day is probably going to test the limits of most shared hosting accounts.

Unlimited disk space:

All disk space must be paid for by the company and if you greatly exceed their user average, you may find your account being pulled. Check the host's terms of service for stipulations on how the disk space quota can be used.

Daily transfer limits:

Like any business, some days are busier than others. Unfortunately, some hosts don't recognize this and limit the amount of bandwidth able to be used in any one day. If you have a web site that is date/day active e.g., the weekends, this may have a serious effect on your site's viability.

Bandwidth "throttling" and load balancing:

It is important to ascertain whether your host will decrease the availability of your bandwidth based on server activity. This isn't a decrease in your quota itself, but a "slowing" down of how fast this bandwidth can be used. Bandwidth throttling can result in your entire web site being slow to load. Excess throttling can mean that some of your visitors may not be able to access the site.

Database limits:

So many applications these days are powered by databases and you may find that one or two databases aren't enough - and then suddenly the cheap account you had becomes quite expensive through additional fees.

Domain limits

You may only want to host a single site now, but what about in the future? As with databases, some hosts only offer 1 or 2 domains included in their prices - and you may have to pay top dollar for additional domains. Also, a good web hosting service offers true multi-domain support, i.e. you can host a number of sites with their own domain names under the same account and they will also have their own @extradomain.com emails addresses.

Money Back Guarantees:

Sounds great doesn't it - "If you aren't satisfied with the service within 30 days we'll refund your money!". Some companies are genuine in their offer, others aren't - check the fine print.

Uptime guarantee:

As with money back guarantees, it's wise to check the fine print. Some uptime guarantees exclude just about every event that could lead to serious downtime and are totally useless. When comparing uptime figures between hosts, bear in mind that many companies may claim "99.99% uptime", but they will actually be referring to their servers being powered on and connected to the Internet; however, in most instances they won't subtract the downtime from a single service such as email not functioning.

Content objections:

In the terms and conditions of almost every web hosting service is a clause stating that they can terminate your account at any time, for any reason. In most instances, this is to protect the web host from the increasing number of unscrupulous individuals in our society who have a passion for litigation.

There is a down side to this - you may express a political opinion or religious view that may be in opposition to that of the web hosting company management. They are well within their rights to terminate your account. Check with the hosting company before signing up if your content is the subject of controversy, is highly political or religious.

Support

Think about the kind of support you will likely need. While phone support can be wonderful, often the person at the other end may be working off a wizard and actually have as much (or perhaps even less) knowledge about hosting issues than you. In many instances, if the issue is anything past being very simple; a support ticket will need to be opened for you anyway. Email support can be very beneficial in that there is a written record of your issue and how it was resolved - very handy in case the event should crop up again.

Conflict resolution

Some hosts won't hesitate to pull the pin on your account for one of any number of reasons - some of which are mentioned above. A good host will usually warn you first if trouble is appearing on the horizon so that you can take action before it becomes a matter of suspension.

Hosting is a complex area with many players involved - by taking the points above into account before selecting your next web host, you can help reduce the risk of frustration and disappointment.

Special offer

We've teamed up ThinkHost, a well established and earth-friendly hosting company, to provide you with a very special bonus - a further $11 discount on their already heavily discounted full featured 24 month plan; powered by 100% renewable energy!
